  • Young Entrepreneur sale

    Thu 29 Mar 2018

At CSPA we are passionate about actively engaging children in a hands-on and interactive school where they can develop their entrepreneurial skills. Our Young Entrepreneur team join together to to hone their business skills, enhance their 'business' knowledge, develop a positive attitude and learn how to work as a team to achieve success professionally and personally.

On Wednesday the team launched their YE sale. It was another highly successful sale with nearly all products selling out! The teams worked incredibly well together and demonstrated a good understanding of how business works and how a profit is made.

They now have their special visit to look forward to after all of their hard work, visiting 'The Breadhouse' and 'Unique Like You'. Well done Young Entrepreneurs!

  • Year 6 Spring Fayre Games

Sun 18 Mar 2018 Mrs Alburg

This week, Year 6 have been extremely busy designing, making, promoting and running their very own game for our annual Spring Fayre. The theme was 'Keeping Healthy' and the children's games ranged from those encouraging a healthy diet to being fit and trying different sports.

The games included: Calorie Killers, Muskapears, The Hungry Games, Fruity Fight, Knock 'Em Down, Tooti Fruiti, Ping Pong Power, Tooth Busters, The Flying Fabulous Fruit and Dunk It.

This Year 6 DT project gave the children an opportunity to develop a number of different skills and they should all be incredibly proud of their fantastic achievements. Well done Year 6!

  • Walk to School - Be Healthy Week

Sun 18 Mar 2018 Mrs Botia

We’ve had a fantastic spring term ‘Walk To School and Be Healthy Week’ . Launched by Miss Murray, the children learned about the Amantani UK project, which helps children in Peru avoid up to 8 hours of walking to school and back home every day.  Groovy Shoesday was yet again welcomed by the children and raised money for the Peruvian boarding school – thank you for your kindness. It was lovely to see so many families walking to school and increasingly healthy packed lunches including fruit and vegetables.

To further promote healthy eating, The Co-Op were once again very generous, providing bananas, apple juice and summer berries for Year 5 to make their smoothies and think about how their smoothies could be advertised. Year 3 were incredibly creative in their sandwich designs and Year 4 made some delicious cupcakes with a healthy  twist. We look forward to seeing the children’s lovely 2 course menu homework and hope this encourages them to get cooking more often.

The week was also about fitness. Ms Wise’s basketball challenge was more popular than ever before with many children participating. Year 4 ran a mile a day and Year 3 also walked a mile on a couple of days throughout the week. Mr Hicks brought in instructors to teach handball and tennis. Mr Briant organised an exciting game on the field, in which the children never seemed to stop running! They have also been measuring their pulse rates ,plotting corresponding barcharts and calculating food miles using packaging labels. Based upon the theme of ’health and fitness’, Year 6 have been designing and making their wonderful spring fair games.

Thanks to the Year 6 ‘Walk To School and Be Healthy’ team, we have noticed a huge improvement in the parking around Penn Road. Many thanks to everyone who has supported this week  and helped  make it so successful.

With Sport Relief  next week, we hope that children continue to keep fit and eat healthily!
  • Cross Country at Gayhurst School

Sun 18 Mar 2018 Mrs Alburg
Congratulations to all our wonderful CSPA runners who ran with such commitment and determination at a new match venue at Gayhurst School. The course was a challenging one and our children ran with their usual CSPA spirit. Very well done to all of the children, staff and parents for representing CSPA in such great style. It was a successful morning with plenty of individual and team medals presented. A fantastic end to our 2017-18 season!
  • Girls football cup match

    Fri 09 Mar 2018

On Tuesday, 27th February the girls’ won their cup match v Great Missenden with a 6-0 win!

    Write up below from Niamh:

‘An exciting match for the girls at Mill Meadow. Despite the heavy snow the girls persevered and came through with a win. With excitement they go through to the quarter final. With a second victory for the team they are hoping to get through to the semi finals and then the final.’

  • World Book Day

    Tue 06 Mar 2018

The children and staff enjoyed a fantastic World Book Day on Tuesday, after the disruption of the original national day due to snow. Everyone looked amazing in their book character costumes and prizes were awarded in each year group for the most original outfits. We had characters ranging from Harry Potter to Alice in Wonderland and the Wimpy Kid to the Demon Dentist.

The Big Book Swap saw the hall full of wonderful books - probably a couple of thousand if it had been possible to count them! The children loved exchanging their book tokens and went home with carrier bags full of lovely new books to read. It was great to see the school buzzing with enthusiasm for reading and the day highlighted the fact that despite the attraction of screens, books are still highly valued and loved by our children.
