  • Quadkids Qualifier

    Tue 16 May 2017

Dr Challoner's High School hosted the qualifying round of the Quadkids athletics competition. The pressure was on for Mrs Alburg and the team as since the competition has started, CSPA has won this stage!

Each member of team has to take part in every element of the competition, including short and long distance track events, relay, throwing and jumping. Our children performed magnificently but a tense wait followed the end of the competition as the results has to be compiled and checked overnight.

I am delighted to report that CSPA came out on top once again and now qualify for the county final of the Bucks Schools Games on 7th July.

    Well done C

SPA and good luck in the final!

  • National Gym Finals

    Mon 08 May 2017

CSPA National Silver Medallists 6th May 2017

Representing the South of England, a superb display of floor sequences and vaulting by our team of five boys ensured that CSPA came back to Buckinghamshire with  silver medals having just being pipped at the post by the London Region by 0.4points.

Participating in Round 4, outstanding performances by all boys on the vault placed our team in first position by 2 clear points over the six regions of Great Britain schools that performed in the previous 3 rounds. The floor sequences followed the vault and with our boys displaying great confidence and precision in their gymnastic movements were greeted with great applause from the appreciative audience of over two thousand people.

It was late in the afternoon when we were made aware that the team from London had just edged us out into second place by the slightest of margins.

Despite the disappointment of the news, it didn’t overshadow the brilliant display of the majestic, classy performances of our boys, much admired by fellow colleagues and judges.

Congratulations to : Ted Quaife, Finlay Howard, Harrison Blackman, Isiah Samuel and fresh from Osmington Bay, Ellis Howard! Well done boys you are a great credit to CSPA and the South of England.

A surprise presentation of a BSGA tie was made to Mr Underwood, as this competition will be his last one, after 17 consecutive years of success in bringing CSPA teams to the National Finals. Of course, this summer, Mr Underwood will be taking his retirement and moving away from Chalfont St Peter with Mrs Underwood and family.

A huge thank you to Mr Underwood for 27 years of dedication to our school sport and the amazing success he has achieved with the gymnastics.

Finally, many thanks to the parents of our team members who have given the boys wonderful support over the past few years. Thank you.
