  • French Verse Speaking Competition

    Thu 27 Feb 2014

St Mary's School in Gerrards Cross welcomed children from all over South Buckinghamshire today to a competition which entailed children reciting poetry in French. There were categories for native French-speakers and also children just learning French.

Congratulations to Charlotte, Mariam, Sebastian, Arabella and Maahi, who performed superbly representing our school against stiff competition. Special congratulations to Charlotte who came first in the native speaker category. In addition, we are delighted to have won three third place prizes.

Well done to all five children for working so hard to practice their poems and thank you to Mrs Downie, our French specialist for preparing the children so well!

    U10 Cup Football Match
Following the wettest winter on record so far, it was with great relief that our football season finally resumed this week. Our U10 football team played magnificently on Monday against Great Missenden and enjoyed 75% possession of the ball. Unfortunately one break away by our opponents resulted in the only goal of the match. However the boys can keep their heads held high for playing so well.

    U11 Cup Football match
Congratulations to our U11 football team for a prestigious win on Thursday 27th February against Prestwood Juniors. CSPA leading by two excellent goals were well on top in their match. Late in the second half, our opponents pulled two quick goals back to even the match. This left a nerve-tingling 5 minutes where either side could march on to the quarter finals! A superb inter-passing move by our boys was capped with Matthew scoring a well-deserved winning goal, much to the delight of the  large contingent of supporters from CSPA. Well done to all concerned!

  • Netball Match

    Thu 27 Feb 2014

On Thursday the 27th of February the year six netball team played a netball match after school against St Mary’s School Gerards Cross. Within the first half it was an extremely tight game and we drew five-all, however Chalfont St Peter girls didn’t let it get them down! For their next half we fought strongly and "upped" ourgame to come out winning with a score of 10-7.

Luckily the weather held out nice and dry (for once) to enable Chalfont’s victory! The team were very proud! Well done girls!

  • Literacy Lead Leaners Assembly

    Tue 25 Feb 2014

Members of our Literacy Lead Learners group (the Triple L group) delivered an assembly they had prepared today. They have been working for several weeks to read and finally recommend a list of books for other children to read and enjoy.

Please click here for their presentation.

As we build up to World Book Day next week, we are encouraging children to read, read read!!

There are lots of activities coming up... the Big Book Swap, Dress up as a Book Character Day, World Book Day and of course the 'Read for My School' online project.

Meanwhile, we are encouraging children to share their reading with mums and dads at home and of course to keep those lovely Reading Journals going - we are looking forward to sharing some wonderful examples in assembly soon!

  • National Regional Table Tennis Finals in Bristol

    Sun 23 Feb 2014

Many congratulations to our boys and girls who competed in the National Regional Table Tennis finals on Sunday 23rd February. They performed with great enthusiasm, competing against some very strong opposition from schools representing the south and west of England. We experienced a real test of excellent table tennis.

By 4.30pm, having played our matches, the final placings were very, very close. Unfortunately both of our teams were squeezed out of reaching the national finals on countback!

I would like to thank all of the parents and supporters who joined us yesterday and to the players who gave their all.

A special mention goes to Shae, who despite playing against the strongest 'Number 1' players from other schools and having to experience them scoring points against him - most unusually - he came back with great dynamism and determination in every match and finished the day unbeaten.

He certainly caught the eye of many a spectator who relished watching this talented young man.

Well done Shae and well done to all the girls and boys who represented CSPA so well. Thank you!
