  • Rotary Club Christmas Story Competition

    Thu 14 Feb 2013

We had two prize winners in this competition which is organised annually by the local Rotary Clubs. In the Year 3 category, Gemma won 3rd prize with 'The girl who didn't have a friend' and in the Year 5 category, Jeena won 3rd prize for 'Where's Santa?'.

Last week the girls and their families were invited to a special prize giving ceremony in Great Missenden. All of the local Rotary presidents attended as well as the District Governor. Nick Gallant, an actor and presenter, read aloud the winning stories superbly and this was followed by the presentation of awards - book tokens and golden family tickets to the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, where the winning entries will soon be displayed.

It proved to be a delightful evening, thoroughly enjoyed by the children and adults alike. Congratulations to Gemma and Jeena for their prize winning entries.

  • St Marys School V Chalfont St Peter Academy

    Fri 01 Feb 2013

The Year 6 netball A team were driven over to St Marys School on Tuesday to play our first match of the season.  We were given our positions and the match began...

The first goal was scored by St Marys but we quickly worked hard to score an equaliser.  However before we knew it in the second quarter we were 3-2 down. The third quarter we had great play in defence allowing us to keep them out of the D and get lots of interceptions.  We worked even harder in the third quarter and improved our attack allowing us to equalise.

With one minute to go we managed to get the ball into the D and Lara scored the winning goal with a final score of 3-4 to Chalfont St Peter Academy.

After the match we had a drink and biscuit and celebrated our victory!

  • Mr Clark's Roman Talk

    Fri 01 Feb 2013

On Thursday, 31st January, Mr Clark came to talk about the Romans.

First he read a long poem about three men trying to defend Rome. After that he brought round a plastic Roman Helmet for us to try on. He showed us a Roman tile that had a dogs paw print on it.

A few minutes later he brought round a Roman key ring which we could all try on! Then he came round with lots of other old roman things!

    It was all Very exciting.
