Safer Internet Day Tuesday 7th February 2017
Tuesday was the national "Safer Internet Day", during which we took the opportunity to share a presentation during whole school assembly to provoke some thinking amongst our children about their own use of the internet. We hope that it may open up discussion opportunities at home with parents and provide a platform for your own discussions.

Southern Region Floor and Vault Gymnastics Championships February 2017
Southern Region Gymnastic Champions!
Chalfont St Peter CE Academy’s boys' team won the Floor and Vault Southern Region Championships on Sunday. Performing their vault and floor routines with excellence, the boys' team qualify for the National Finals in Stoke on Trent on Saturday 6th May.
Congratulations to Ted Quaife, Finlay Howard, Harrison Blackman and Isiah Samuel.
Our mixed team performed brilliantly on the floor and vault and and were just tenths behind Stokenchurch to win silver medals - a great achievement for our young team made up of children from Y4 and 5. Our girls’ team performed really well against a number of very strong teams but were squeezed out of the medals.
I would like to congratulate all of our gymnasts for their performances and our parents and their relations for their wonderful support and look forward to our next competition - the National Milano gymnastics finals in March where the mixed team will be competing against the 'best of the best' from all around the UK!
Sport Updates 3rd February 2017
Swimming
Congratulations to Isabelle Nicholls, Freddie Lucas and Harry Gibb who all represented the school whilst competing at a swimming gala last weekend. All 3 swimmers achieved rosettes and medals across a wide range of disciplines. They now move onto the next stages of this competition and have great potential for further success. It was wonderful to present the medals and rosettes in our achievement assembly this week. Well done our CSPA swimmers!
Cross Country
Last Saturday, we enjoyed another successful morning of cross country running at Hervines Park in Amersham. On a cold, damp and muddy morning, our CSPA runners gave their usual enthusiastic best and once again achieved a number of individual and team medals. One highlight in particular was the Year 4 boys’ race where we had four finishers in the top 10 and won the Team Gold! As always, the children of CSPA showed wonderful team spirit and great sportsmanship. Well done and thank you to all concerned. We look forward to our final match at Lowndes Park, Chesham on Saturday 4th March.
Netball
Well done to our Year 6 netball team who this week played a league match against Holtspur School and won 10-1! What a great victory and a fantastic performance from the girls. It was also the first opportunity for the girls to wear our new netball skirts which were bought following a donation made to the school by past pupil Ellie Lothian and her family. Well done once again girls and good luck in your next match after half term (letters to follow).

Our new Year 6 House Captains for the Spring Term are:

On Thursday, children enjoyed this French Pancake Day celebration, led by Mrs Downie, learning about French traditions and eating the pancakes – which meant asking for them in French!
