Last week, some of our Year 6 performers visited Chalfont Lodge Care Home to sing some of our songs from 'Now That's What We Call Music'. The residents enjoyed every moment and it was a special occasion for both them and the children, particularly at Christmas time and the season of giving and thinking of others.
We also joined VOPAG (Village Old Persons Action Group) at their AGM to sing some songs as well as chatting together over a mince pie. Thank you to both organisations for their kindness and hospitality. Merry Christmas to you all!
Last Friday, our talented gymnasts took to the floor and vault to represent our academy in fantastic style at the Southern Milano Gymnastics Championships! Our girls', boys' and mixed teams performed superbly well gaining outstanding scores on both the floor and the vault, before then performing as a team for their group sequences. Once again, their composure, team spirit and determination shone through leading to exceptional success. Our girls' team achieved bronze medals against a very high standard of competition - they were fantastic and should be so proud of their achievements finishing behind 2 high-performing independent schools. Our boys' team were also brilliant giving mature and focused performances. They thoroughly deserved the success of being silver medalists and will go to the National Finals to represent the South. Finally, our mixed team didn't disappoint. The high level of gymnastics continued and I am delighted to inform you that the mixed team came out on top as gold medalists - absolutely wonderful! CSPA is so proud of all their achievements and we wish them all the very best as they represent the south and our school at the National Finals! Thank you to our coaches - Amy and Lucy - for their expertise, hard work and encouragement, and to parents for their support. Well done everyone!
Once again, the U11 CSPA table teams took to the stage at the Bucks County Championships at John Hampden Grammar School. With Farnham Common as our only opposition, we were eager to play.
With our boys team consisting of Edward M, Matthew L, Shyan V, Rhys M and Jack F, our hopes were high after the countless training sessions held throughout the many weeks leading up to the competition. After a tight battle with the boys from Farnham Common, the CSPA team became victorious with a 5-3 win.
With 3 of our four girls having played in the national tournament last year, we were quietly confident that the team (Alice G, Poppy G, Clarissa N and Bella S) would bring home a comfortable win. As a result of some fantastic table tennis by the CSPA girls, an 8-0 victory seemed appropriate. An impressive start for the girls.
The second competition of the day saw our boys and girls play in an individual tournament. With CSPA players filling all the spaces in the semi-finals and finals, our dominance was clear. After closely fought battles, Edward M emerged supreme in the boys final and Alice G claimed fame through a tough game with her twin sister Poppy.
A spectacular day for all to see, bringing home all the medals too. An exciting start to this years competitions!
