  • Cross Country

Fri 24 Nov 2017 Mrs Alburg

Medals were presented to the children today who represented the school so wonderfully last weekend at our second cross country match of the season. Once again, all children ran with great determination and perseverance.  It was a fantastic display of CSPA spirit!  Congratulations to all the children for their achievements and thank you to the parents and staff for their support.

Please note that this Monday 27th November is our final cross country session for this term as we prepare for the end of term shows and other occasions which make this a busy time of year.  This Monday is our traditional ‘Festive’ run and the children are welcome to come in Christmas hats/fancy dress.  Cross country resumes in the spring term.

  • Children In Need!

Fri 17 Nov 2017 Mrs Alburg

We were delighted to welcome the official Pudsey Bear to school on Tuesday.  A fabulous amount of £913.59 was raised from the sale of official Pudsey merchandise this week.  In addition £83.94 has been collected in donations today.  This money will be given to the Misbourne Matins Rotary group who work tirelessly for this great charity to pass on to BBC Children in Need.  Thank you to everyone who donated – you are wonderful!

  • CSPA Girls Attend Ladies Football Match

Fri 17 Nov 2017 Mr Hicks

We took a number of Girls from the Girls' Football Club to Adams Park on Sunday to watch Reading Ladies Vs Chelsea Ladies. The girls met the Reading club mascot and enjoyed a fantastic game of football. Hopefully, this will inspire them to continue playing football in the future!
  • Remembrance Parade 2017

Mon 13 Nov 2017 Mrs Alburg
On Sunday, 30 children and staff joined other members of the village community at the annual Remembrance Parade. The children marched through the village with great pride and thoughtful respect. The parade concluded at St Peter's Church with a final ceremony around the war memorial and an opportunity to lay a poppy wreath. A church service followed which gave the children an opportunity to think about what we can learn from remembrance and make a difference in our futures.
  • Football at CSPA!

Fri 10 Nov 2017 Mr Briant
It’s been a pleasure to coach these kids through this term. The Year 5 team are roaring with talent and are becoming one of the best technical teams. We've had two cup fixtures and have won them both by a minimum of six goals. The team has great potential and I look forward to being a part of their development as we work through this year into the Year 6 campaign.

We’ve had many fixtures for our Year 6 team, including getting to the county finals of the schools national football tournament. An achievement not many teams can claim! This team consists of nine players that work so very well with each other. They all know their roles in the team and give 110% every time they step out on the pitch. As a coach, I can’t ask for anything more. Again an absolute pleasure to work with these children this season.

I look forward to a successful future with these players.
  • Walk to School Week

Fri 10 Nov 2017 Mrs Botia

Once again, we have had a very successful ‘Walk To School and Be Healthy Week’ with lots of  families walking to school and lovely packed lunches including fruit and vegetables.

On Groovy Shoesday, children enjoyed wearing their slippers, favourite shoes and we managed to raise £432 For James Bertrand – thank you for your kind donations.

To promote healthy eating, The Co-Op were particularly generous, providing bananas, oranges and cucumber for each class –  the children loved it and many tried different fruit for the first time.

Ms Wise set up an exciting basketball challenge and a great highlight of the week was the ‘Mini Boot Camp’ organised by one of our parents, Mrs Smith.

Thanks to the  Year 6 ‘Walk To School and Be Healthy’ team, who embraced their responsibilities wholeheartedly, we now have data on each class and the healthiest class will receive the ‘Walk To School and Be Healthy’ trophy.

Lots of lovely badges for the weekend competition are gradually filtering through (the deadline is Monday 13th November). The winner from each class will receive a prize and judging will commence next week by the Year 6 team.

The ‘Walk to School and Be Healthy’ team closed the week with a conga in the playground!  We hope that children continue to keep fit and eat healthily!
