The children and staff enjoyed a fantastic World Book Day on Tuesday, after the disruption of the original national day due to snow. Everyone looked amazing in their book character costumes and prizes were awarded in each year group for the most original outfits. We had characters ranging from Harry Potter to Alice in Wonderland and the Wimpy Kid to the Demon Dentist.
The Big Book Swap saw the hall full of wonderful books - probably a couple of thousand if it had been possible to count them! The children loved exchanging their book tokens and went home with carrier bags full of lovely new books to read. It was great to see the school buzzing with enthusiasm for reading and the day highlighted the fact that despite the attraction of screens, books are still highly valued and loved by our children.
