1940’s Wow Day – History off the Page Visit
On Wednesday this week, ‘History off the Page’ – a visiting history group – came to our school in order for year 6 to experience a little of what life was like in 1940s Britain. In the morning, the children learned about life in school during that time and in the afternoon the hall was transformed from a 1940s classroom to a busy shopping village. The children used their ration books to buy products and others were shopkeepers. It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all. A fantastic opportunity to learn a little more about wartime Britain.
