Two National Gymnastic Titles- Simply The Best!

Chalfont St Peter CE Academy won their second national title on Saturday at Stoke on Trent in the British Schools Floor and Vault U11 Boys Championships. Having won the National School Team Championships in March, Chalfont St Peter Boys performed with great panache to overcome very strong opposition from eight other schools across Great Britain to win the British Schools’ Floor and Vault Championships. Convincing performances from Ben, Oliver, Charlie, Alex and Callum proved too strong for the second placed U11 boys’ team from The Royal Grammar School, Newcastle and won by 1 clear point. The team was highly praised by a number of onlookers who commented on the quality of performance by all members of the team.
Wonderful support was provided by parents and families of the boys who cheered and applauded with great enthusiasm when the organiser announced that, Chalfont St Peter had become National Champions for 2014. The cheers echoed in time with the loudspeakers beating out, ‘Simply The Best’  

The winning U11 teams from Chalfont St Peter CE Academy,(Boys),  Maltmans Green, (Girls) and the runners up in the mixed section, Stoke Poges, were representing the South of England in the National Finals. With their aggregated scores, The South, also won the George Finney Trophy for the region that achieved the highest scores. It is a great credit to our three local schools in Chiltern South Bucks, that they performed at such a high standard in national school gymnastics.
