St Peter’s Church’s new Flood Lights

On Sunday 16th October Reverend Overton conducted a special Songs of Praise service held at the church.  The service, themed around ‘light’ celebrated the new illumination of the church provided by the eco-friendly flood lights recently installed. A packed church joined in song, sharing some favourite hymns of both parishioners and of the school.

We were delighted that Mr Underwood was able to join the service and be witness to the official turning on of the lights by Oliver Sansum (Opticians) and John West (Stationery Store).

As the lights grew to full power, the church looked magnificent as a centre piece for the whole village and the lights seemed to pick out perfectly the different colours and patterns of the bricks. It was a wonderful occasion and we look forward to seeing the church being lit up as we enter the darker, earlier evenings, as we draw in to late autumn.
