Congratulations to our boys' team and mixed team of gymnasts who competed in the National Floor and Vault Finals on Saturday 30th April in Stoke on Trent.

The boys warmed up on the floor and vault from 8am in the morning, walking on to present to their judges at 8.45am. Competing first on the vault, the young team comprised of boys from years 4 and 5, performed brilliantly over long and side box. Moving on to the floor, the boys were all composed and neat in their routines and impressed the judges with their accuracy and confidence on the floor.

Next came our mixed team of boys and girls from year 6 who used their experience of previous competitions to steady their nerves and give their best.

A long wait followed whilst the remaining rounds of the competition took place with gymnasts from all regions around the UK competed. The results finally were announced at nearly 6pm where we were delighted that our boys managed to gain 3rd place and bronze medals and our mixed team were 5th place. Both teams competed against over 10 other teams so we are very proud of their performance.

With two teams competing so well, in addition to Maltman's Green, also in Chalfont St Peter, we won the George Finney Trophy for the best performing region in the Uk!

Huge thanks, once again to Mr Underwood for his dedication to the coaching of our gymnastics squads; indeed he has already started preparing for next year!
