Chess News March 2016

On Saturday, two of our Year 4 chess players, George Driscoll and Arthur Page, took part in the under 9 qualifier for the national finals of the English Primary Schools Chess Championships. Congratulations to both George and Arthur who have won through to the national finals - a tremendous achievement!

The annual school chess tournament has now ended after 7 rounds of hard-fought chess games. The winners are: Year 3 - Joe Sloan, Year 4 (joint) - George Driscoll and Arthur Page, Year 5 (joint) - Connor Heath and Laurie McGrath, Year 6 - Lukas Ross. The best performing girl in the school was Katherine Driscoll. These children have all qualified to take part in the Buckinghamshire ‘Megafinal’ stage of this national chess competition which will take place in June. Well done to all the chess players who took part for their efforts!
