    Learning Support Assistant


    Hours:         Full and part time roles available

    Salary:         From £24,234 pa, full time equivalent, pro rata for hours worked, term time only

    Contract:   Fixed term until August 2027

    Start:           June or September 2026

    About the Role

    This role is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference! You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to support individual pupils, helping them to access learning, grow in confidence and develop independence.

    Our dedicated team is passionate about delivering an ambitious and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.

    Strong communication skills are essential and experience or an understanding of supporting pupils with special educational needs would be preferable.

    What You’ll Do

    As part of our committed team, you will:

    • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to build pupils’ confidence and independence

    • Develop positive, trusting relationships that nurture personal, social and emotional growth

    • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and adapt activities to meet individual needs

    • Help create a welcoming, structured and inclusive learning environment

    • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

    • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies to ensure every pupil remains safe and supported

    What We’re Looking For

    We are looking for someone who:

    • Is compassionate, patient and enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning

    • Has an interest in working with pupils with special educational needs

    • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

    • Has experience of working with children in a school setting

    • Communicates clearly and confidently

    Chalfont St Peter CE Academy  is proud to be in partnership with the Astra School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider (SCITT), an innovative, Ofsted Outstanding and non-profit organisation which provides outstanding training opportunities for new entrants into the teaching profession. The Astra SCITT is part of the Astra Teaching School Hub, accredited by the DfE as one of only 87 Hubs in the country to offer the 'golden thread' of training and support for teachers at all stages of their career.
