Opportunities in sport (including impact, improvement and sustainability)

There was no specific, targeted spending. However, through the spending made and actions taken, our PE and sport provision is inclusive, where no pupil is excluded due to specific needs of any type, their background or gender. Therefore, the spending has improved opportunities in PE and sport for all pupils.

The funding has had a positive impact on the following:

  • Increasing staff's confidence, competence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport,
  • Increasing engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity and sport,
  • Raising the profile of PE and sport across the school to support whole school improvement,
  • Offering a broad and more equal experience of a range of sports and physical activities to all pupils,
  • Increasing participation in competitive sport,
  • Improving PE attainment,
  • Increasing pupil participation in extra-curricular activities.

Swimming and Water Safety

79% of Year 6 pupils can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of 25 metres.

84% of Year 6 pupils can use a range of strokes effectively.

46% of Year 6 pupils can perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

At CSPA, we have plans in place to develop the impact of our school's spending on swimming and water safety attainment and this is a top priority for 2025/26.
