Pastoral Care


At this school, the health, safety and well-being of every child are our paramount concern. We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. Our aim is that children will enjoy their time as pupils in this school. 

We want to work in partnership with parents to help the children to achieve their full potential and make a positive contribution.

On rare occasions our concern about a child may mean that we have to consult other agencies even before we contact their parents.


The procedures that we follow have been laid down by the Buckinghamshire Area Child Protection Committee, and the school has adopted a Child Protection Policy in line with this for the safety of all. If you want to know more about our procedures or the policy, please view the school website or speak to the Headteacher. Every effort is made to make sure that all pupils have good personal relationships with their class teacher. The staff and Headteacher are always willing to see children on an individual basis and children are encouraged to develop a caring attitude for others.


Healthy competition in sporting and other activities is promoted by the use of a ‘house’ system. All pupils are allocated a house; either Gray, Hampden, Milton or Penn and are encouraged to support their house fully throughout their time in school.

Payment for trips and activities now takes place using an online system, 'Parentpay' with a username and password allocated through the school office.

We have a variety of pupil voice groups that operate within the school giving children the opportunity to take responsibility and develop leadership skills. Impact Reporters meet regularly with members of the Senior Leadership Team to feedback opinion and research development options. "The Wings" equally work to identify and develop the school's Christian distinctiveness. Other groups include the House Captains, Sports Leaders, Arts Leaders, Buddies and Year 6 Monitors.
