Y3 Visit to the Roald Dahl Museum Aylesbury 28th September 2015

hildren in Year 3 had a wonderful trip to the County Museum in Aylesbury on Monday. They enjoyed spending time in the Roald Dahl Gallery, trying out all sorts of hands on activities such as looking at insects under microscopes, spinning optical illusions and shadow making. The children also had a ride in the great glass elevator and took part in a Willy Wonka role play, as well as learning many fascinating facts about Roald Dahl himself and his books. They discovered how to 'disappear' in a green room reconstruction and were able to crawl through the foxes tunnel. In a craft workshop, they created copies of Mr Twit's disgusting beard using collage with a mirror set into the face to remind themselves not to behave like the Twits!

The children impressed us with their enthusiasm and knowledge throughout the day and it was an excellent enhancement of our current literacy work on Roald Dahl's books
