Table Tennis County Champions

Following an enthralling day's table tennis, we are delighted to report that Chalfont St Peter CE Academy has once again become County Table Tennis Champions, in both the U11 boys' and U11 girls' championships. A squad of 5 girls and boys made up our academy teams and everyone displayed a high standard of play.

Our U11 boys' squad comprising Marcus and Seb Los, Sam Fenner, Oliver Evans and Louis Basnayake, had to be at their very best to challenge and overcome some very strong opposition during the morning.

Meanwhile, our girls' squad comprising Betsy Godfrey, Maddy Kirkby, Ella Radcliffe, Savanna O'Regan, and Ellie Lothian, performed brilliantly to finish the morning unbeaten!

Both teams will represent Buckinghamshire in the national zone finals at Wednesbury, Birmingham on Saturday 31 January 2015.

During the afternoon, the individual championships took place and I am delighted to report that Betsy Godfrey became County Champion (2014) and therefore has qualified to represent Buckinghamshire in the individual national finals in Doncaster in April 2015, following in the footsteps of past pupils, Jemma Walker (2012) ad Shae Thakker (2013) . Marcus Los was just pipped at the post in the boys' individual final and came a very commendable runner up.

Finally, it was wonderful to see so many of our past pupils now representing their secondary schools: Dr Challoner's Grammar School U13, U16 and U19s; Dr Challoner's High School U13 and U16 all won through to the national zone finals. It was also splendid to note that The Chalfont Community College entered a team this year for the first time and played so well. The majority of players in these teams were made up of our past pupils! Brilliant!

The national zone finals promise to be quite an occasion for Chalfont St Peter and local secondary schools.

Grateful thanks to Mr John Underwood and Mrs Sue Rowley for their commitment and dedication to table tennis at our school and for accompanying/coaching the children.
