On Tuesday, a Girls' team and a Boys' team went to a Year 6 cricket tournament. Although it was different teams, they were both competing against mixed teams and teams of boys. Both teams started amazingly well, winning their opening 2 games, everything was looking positive. After a brief shower while they had lunch and regrouped, the Boys managed to win their two remaining games, meaning they won all 4 of their matches, limiting their opponents to minimal runs due to the amount of wickets taken. Josh T. even managed to get a hat-trick which is not an easy task! The Girls unfortunately lost their next match but battled back to ensure they won their remaining fixture, taking them to 3 wins out of 4 - fantastic considering they were playing against mixed teams and teams of boys. Both teams have therefore qualified for the County Finals later in the month. Well done.

On Tuesday afternoon, 8 Year 4 children travelled to Davenies for a Year 4 cricket festival. On arrival, the weather took a turn for the worse, meaning it got a bit wet and slippery. The children persevered and managed to win their opening game. They narrowly lost on their second game by a couple of runs before a downpour started. They stopped for a snack then a break in the weather meant that they could play one remaining game. Unfortunately, although they played a very strong team they lost their final game. Despite the weather, the children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to represent CSPA against other schools. Well done.
