Remembrance Parade 2013

On Sunday 10th November over 40 children from Chalfont St Peter Church of England Academy took part in the local community parade. The procession was led by the cadet's band and made its way from Tunmer's Green by the Leisure Centre all the way down through the roads through the village to the parish church. Scouts, guides, schools and members of local organisations gathered around the memorial for a short service led by Reverend Charles Overton.

Our banner, proudly carried by one of our Year 6 children who has attended the parade since Y3, displayed our new Academy logo on the front and the logo of the school since its opening in 1892. Two of our Y6 children laid our wreath at the foot of the memorial. Another wreath will be laid at the memorial in Bayeux cemetery when we go on our Y6 residential to France next year. A two minute silence and the 'Last Post' concluded the event.

It was a wonderful occasion which made us very proud of all of the servicemen of Chalfont St Peter and all over the country who serve great Britain so courageously.
