PTA Ball: Starry Starry Night! 6th February 2015

The PTA "Ball Committee" organised another amazing Ball on Friday evening. Hours and hours of planning, purchasing, preparation and making came together for a fantastic occasion, enjoyed by parents and friends of the school.

The theme this year, "Starry, Starry Night" was brought to life through decorations in the school hall, trnasforming it into a 'Ball room' - the celing adorned with night-sky drapes and hanging stars, star-spot lights and fairy lights and a huge painting of Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night". Tables, laid for the 4 course dinner with linen table cloths and decorations set the scene for a splendid evening's enjoyment.

Lights, music, conversation and a glass of bubbly welcomed the guests to the star-lit hall with raffle prizes to be won for those picking a lucky star.

Past parent and great friend of the school, 5* chef Paul Jefferys created the smoked salmon starter and shoulder of pork main courses, an amazing cheesecake was followed by cakes made by Farah accompanying coffee, and the cheese course perfectly rounded off the dinner served by willing parent helpers and many past pupils of the school!

After dinner the auction began with 12 lots, eagerly bid upon by the guests! From Pinewood Studio tours, Harry Potter Studio visit, theatre tickets, to sign rugby shirt/tickets, there was something for everyone.

Our new band, "Cool Beans" came next singing live, tracks that we all know and love and the dancing didn't stop until "carriages at midnight"!

Willing volunteers stepped up to help clear the hall until late into the night and Saturday morning (before 40 girls arrive for gym club on Monday morning!)

A wonderful occasion and all proceeds going towards the upgrade of our ICT in school - to bring our computing back to the forefront.

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported!
