Home-School Liaison

Contact between parents and staff is encouraged at Chalfont St Peter C of E Academy. Parents help out in a wide variety of ways. The Headteacher and staff are available, whenever possible, to see parents as soon as a difficulty or question arises. If you would like to speak to any member of staff, please contact the school to make a convenient appointment.

Parent-teacher consultation evenings are arranged termly when parents are invited into school to discuss the progress of their child with the classteacher.

When entering the school, during the school day, parents and visitors are requested to use the entrance at Penn Road where entry can be gained though use of the security intercom.

“…the vast majority of parents express their delight with the school and their conviction that it provides a wonderful education.”
Ofsted 2009

“Because they are interested and excited by the many different activities and areas of learning, pupils want to do well.”
Ofsted 2009

On reporting to Reception, the Visitors’ Book should be signed, and a visitor’s badge will be issued.

Discipline is firm but fair, with much emphasis placed on self-discipline and good manners. Parents are urged to give backing in the implementation of the school expectations which are few, but designed for greater safety, comfort and well-being within the school.

Where behaviour repeatedly exceeds these rules, a Traffic Light System is in operation whereby children may be issued with a Report Slip. These are collected by the class teacher and in cases of persistent unacceptable behaviour, the child progresses through green, amber and red levels. Parents will be informed at least when their child reaches the amber level, and will be required to come into school to discuss strategies to address their child’s needs. For further details regarding the implementation of this system, please consult the school website.

Parents who wish to access the minutes of meetings and similar documents relating to their child specifically, may peruse the details in the school office where they are available. Parents wishing to view their child’s profile may do so by prior arrangement with the class teacher or Headteacher.
